‘UP IN THE AIR’ – FAUK’S AGM precedes Cloud Technology training event at Birkbeck UCL
A big thank you to Clare Watson of London’s Screen Archives who kindly offered to host FAUK’s AGM and 121st meeting at Birkbeck, UCL on 8th September 2016 and incorporate the meetings into a special training day.
The meetings were well supported by archives across the UK where Chairman, Frank Gray reported on a busy year of meetings and training events for the sector across the UK in London, Leeds, and York.
The AGM and quarterly meeting preceded a light lunch before a special training afternoon in Birkbeck Cinema on the subject of cloud technology for moving image content and quality online. ‘Up in the Air’ was an Innovate UK funded project ‘REVQUAL’ – Resolving Visual Quality for Media – delivered by a partnership of London’s Screen Archives/Film London, Bafta, UCL.
The afternoon event, chaired by Clare, was organised as an open forum case study providing delegates from FAUK and other organisations to question speakers with detailed expertisein the subject and discover more about the practicalities of cloud technologies.
