Book your place for Film Archives for the Future – 16/17 September

Yorkshire Film Archive are delighted to announce the first in a series of training events for public sector organisations and individuals working directly with, or with a specific interest in the work of the UK’s Film Heritage Collections.

The programme, supported by Creative Skillset and Film Archives UK, focusses on organisational development at a time of huge change for the sector as it meets the challenges – and opportunities – of transition from analogue to digital operations.

This first event will consider ‘the bigger picture’ – digital infrastructures, standardising and sharing of metadata, and rights information management – all subjects which are at the forefront of planning for future operations.

We have invited a range of speakers from ITV, the BFI, Digital Production Partnership, Cambridge Imaging Systems, and the University of York to offer specific areas of expertise, as well as creating the space and opportunity to share examples and case studies, drawing in expertise in specialist subjects to help develop our thinking as we plan for the digital future ahead.

The event will take place at the University of York’s state-of-the-art Department of Theatre, Film and Television. Further information, and a programme of events are available at: http://www.yorkshirefilmarchive.com/content/film-archives-future-16th-and-17th-september-2015
