The UEA’s report, ‘Invisible Innovators', making women filmmakers visible across the UK’s Film Archives is now available. It has been commissioned by Film Archives UK to explore the current scale and scope of the holdings of women’s amateur filmmaking within the regional and national film and media archives and to investigate ways of optimising their visibility. 6.3.20

A new film project titled ‘These are the Hands’, looking to raise money for NHS Charities Together, includes material from a Cambridgeshire heart surgeon’s film collection held by EAFA.

FAUK Members met in London before Christmas for their quarterly meeting and AGM kindly hosted by FAUK Member, LONDON’S SCREEN ARCHIVES at their offices in Finsbury Park.
12 noon GMT on World Day for Audio Visual Heritage, Sunday October 27th 2019, heralded the start of a 24 Hour Home Movie Marathon and a unique focus and celebration of footage from archives and individuals right across the world – a simultaneous world-wide project…..
FAUK’S latest quarterly meeting took place at the University of Lincoln on Tuesday 4th June 2019 alongside ‘Heritage Dot’, the two day, inaugural conference exploring digital horizons in relation to cultural heritage.
Guest Speaker Rob Byrne, President of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival Board and reknowned restorer of silent films brought an international flavour to FAUK’s Meet the Archives event as part of the Hippfest programme in March.
With a full programme of both work and pleasure, FAUK’s latest quarterly meeting in December to Belfast proved a popular tour.

The ‘Manchester Time Machine’ is now available : the first ever app for the iPhone which merges archive film with GPS to create a street level tour of Manchester’s streets and people over the last 100 years.
