Next meeting? 28th June 2021
Welcome to FAUK!
Film Archives UK (FAUK) brings together archives, archivists, associate organisations and individuals who are interested in and committed to the work and development of the UK’s public sector film archives.
For a taste of the material we hold, why not watch our video showcasing some of the treasures from our collections?
The UEA’s report, ‘Invisible Innovators', making women filmmakers visible across the UK’s Film Archives is now available. It has been commissioned by Film Archives UK to explore the current scale and scope of the holdings of women’s amateur filmmaking within the regional and national film and media archives and to investigate ways of optimising their visibility. 6.3.20

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved in this very special collaborative production – a fabulous team effort of curators and technicians from across the regional and national archives lead by the production team at Yorkshire Film Archive to win the Focal International 2022 award for BEST USE OF FOOTAGE IN SHORT FILM PRODUCTION.
How marvellous to see such recognition of creative work showcasing the unique and inspiring footage from across the UK’s film archives at what is an international event.
It was so great to see such wonderful attendance of FAUK members at the Awards Ceremony too. No RMT strike was going to get in the way of YFA/NEFA’s Graham Relton – Lost Connections Producer who organised a minibus for a large contingent from YFA, NWFA and Film Hub North to make sure they were there. Further supporters included FAUK Chair, Clare Watson and Richard Shenton who drove down from MACE, Angela Graham from EAFA in Norfolk and Sinead Bhreathnach-Cashell flew over from Northern Ireland Screen.
Special Congratulations go to Andy Burns – ‘Lost Connections’ Co-Writer and Editor and Hussina Raja Co-Writer and the person behind the amazing voice that brought the production so beautifully together. You can read more about their work on the production when FAUK caught up with them both last November The making of ‘Lost Connections’ – something great out of lockdown! – Film Archives UK
This is definitely something else to celebrate when FAUK Members all get together in person at their meeting on September 7th – it’s going to be quite a do!
