London Community Video Archive – Archive consultant/trainer wanted:
Goldsmiths, University of London has received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund
(HLF) for an exciting new project, the London Community Video Archive (LCVA). LCVA
will rescue, nurture and disseminate a unique and threatened part of our video culture,
through archiving, oral history, outreach work and establishing a web presence.
LCVA is looking for an experienced film/video archivist to support the project and work
with two Creative Skillset Archive Trainees see
The role will will involve:
training and mentoring the Archive Trainees.
helping us devise and implement our Archiving strategy
a fee of £1500 (10 days at £150pd) but you will be expected to work flexibly.
Skills/experience required are:
Essential :
Film/video archiving
good personal and communication skills
the ability to work under your own initiative.
Desirable:
experience of training/teaching
knowledge of the area of community and alternative video and film making.
Training will take place on a day in June (TBA) and the interviews and editing will be
undertaken by arrangement with interviewees and the LCVA between June and August.
