IT’S OFFICIAL! Scotland’s First Minister opens National Library’s and Moving Image Archive’s new home

The National Library’s new home at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow was officially opened on Friday 11th November 2016 by Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Ms Sturgeon spent some time browsing through the thousands of historic films that can be seen in the Library’s Moving Image Archive and was also shown the extensive digital resources that visitors can access for research, learning and enjoyment.

FAUK Member, Ruth Washbrook, Head of Moving Image and Sound Collections, who has worked tirelessly over the last few years on the planning and development of the Moving Image Archive sat alongside the First Minister as she got a taste of this wonderful resource.
