The UEA’s report, ‘Invisible Innovators', making women filmmakers visible across the UK’s Film Archives is now available. It has been commissioned by Film Archives UK to explore the current scale and scope of the holdings of women’s amateur filmmaking within the regional and national film and media archives and to investigate ways of optimising their visibility. 6.3.20

The FOCAL International Awards, now in it’s 15th year, celebrate achievement in the use of footage in all variety of genres, across all media platforms, plus archive restoration & preservation.
Producers, filmmakers and other creative professionals who have used library footage in all variety of genre including documentary, feature films and any other form of production or across all media platforms over the last year can submit their work for consideration.
FOCAL also recognise the researchers, technicians and producers that access, maintain and use this precious resource with Awards on the night for best archive researcher, library and restoration work.
Since their inception in 2004, the FOCAL International Awards have highlighted and championed the values of creativity, integrity and sustainability in screen culture. These awards are now, without doubt, the leading and most complete set of awards for the archive footage business in the world today.
