The UEA’s report, ‘Invisible Innovators', making women filmmakers visible across the UK’s Film Archives is now available. It has been commissioned by Film Archives UK to explore the current scale and scope of the holdings of women’s amateur filmmaking within the regional and national film and media archives and to investigate ways of optimising their visibility. 6.3.20

IWM North hosts FAUK meeting
The IWM North in Manchester’s Media City was the venue for Film Archive UK’s quarterly meeting on 27th June.
FAUK are grateful to fellow member and IWM’s Head of Film, Matt Lee for organising the venue and tour.
Ahead of the meeting, FAUK members were treated to a special tour of the WYNDHAM LEWIS LIFE-ART-WAR Exhibition which opened recently and runs until 1 January 2018. The exhibition offered a fascinating insight into the artwork and story of Britain’s original rebel artist.
The meeting was well attended with members travelling from all over the UK including N Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Cornwall and Norfolk. Matt Lee updated members on the work of the IWM Film unit and FAUK also welcomed guest speaker, Flora Menzies from film education charity, Into Film who gave a presentation on their work and their mission to inspire dynamic ways of learning with film and reach more audiences.
FAUK’s next meeting is scheduled for September and will be held in Cardiff. (More details will be posted soon).
